There is little more enchanting than the sight of a child engrossed in a book. Children will be at the centre of the Dalkey Book Festival with over a dozen authors lined up to read, talk, draw and even dance.
There will be a full day of events for your children on Sunday 19th June, with talks from renowned writers including Roddy Doyle, John Boyne, Gordon Snell, Niamh Sharkey, Sarah Webb, Don Conroy, Gillian Perdue, Marie-Louise Fitzpatrick, Mary Kingston, Nicola Pierce, Conor Kostick, Marie-Louise Fitzpatrick, John Newman and Judi Curtin. There will be storytelling, illustration, drawing and dance workshops with readings from the best of Irish writers for children from 3 years old to teenagers.
As well as bookish events for the adults, there will be music, facepainting, puppet shows, cookery demonstrations, book signings as well as guided literary walks.
Programmes detailing all the events, times and prices will be available at the Box Office on Castle Street (formerly Gemma’s).
