Biography
Patrick Winn is the Southeast Asia correspondent for The World, a foreign affairs radio show heard by millions each week on NPR stations across America. Based in Bangkok, Patrick’s work is mostly about Southeast Asia with a focus on rebellion and the narcotics trade. He has contributed to The New York Times, BBC Radio, NBC News, The Times of London, and many other outlets. He was the associate producer for Hope Frozen, a Netflix original documentary, and a field producer for the Myanmar episode of Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown. Both won Emmys. Patrick is the author of two books, HELLO, SHADOWLANDS: Inside the Meth Fiefdoms, Rebel Hideouts and Bomb-Scarred Party Towns of Southeast Asia, and his latest NARCOTOPIA: In Search of the Asian Drug Cartel that Survived the CIA published this January 2024.
