Simon Carswell

Biography

Simon Carswell is News Editor of The Irish Times. He was previously the newspaper’s Finance Correspondent, Public Affairs Editor and Washington Correspondent, covering Barack Obama’s second presidential term and the 2016 election of Donald Trump. He was named National Journalist of the Year by the National Newspapers of Ireland in 2011 for his coverage of the 2008 banking crisis and subsequent economic crash. He is the author of two books: Something Rotten – Irish Banking Scandals and Anglo Republic – Inside The Bank That Broke Ireland.
