Dr Lorraine D’Arcy is a senior lecturer and multidisciplinary researcher in TU Dublin whose research draws on professional experience in civil engineering, sports participation, health promotion and transport planning to explore the design features in neighbourhoods that result in higher car dependency, social isolation and a more sedentary population, all which impact on population health and carbon emissions. She is conference lead for the Walk21 International Conference on Walking and Liveable Communities being hosted by TU Dublin in September 2022.
