Hanna Assouline

Hanna Assouline is a filmmaker and a pacifist and anti-racist activist, and the founder of the organisation Les Guerrières de la Paix (“Women Warriors for Peace”). A French Sephardic Jew of Moroccan origin, she is deeply committed to dialogue between Jewish and Muslim communities and to the fight against racism and antisemitism, both on the ground and through her films.

Her first documentary, Les Guerrières de la Paix, gives voice to Israeli and Palestinian women working together for peace and justice.

Since October 7, she has been active on all fronts to promote a unifying voice, a third voice, amid the noise, amplifying more than ever the voices of Israeli and Palestinian peace activists. She continues this work through the documentary Résister pour la Paix (“Resisting for Peace”), which she co-directed with Sonia Terrab in 2024. The film was selected at FIPADOC and the Rhode Island International Film Festival (RIIFF).

Her movement Les Guerrières de la Paix was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2024.
