Madeleine Keane

Literary Editor of the Sunday Independent and award-winning travel journalist, Madeleine has been writing about travel for 30 years and lectures on travel writing at UCD. Educated at UCD and Trinity, she has been Literary Editor of the Sunday Independent since 2001. She co-founded the Irish Book Awards and has judged numerous literary prizes. She lectures at UCD’s School of English and the Irish Writers’ Centre. She presented a books programme for RTE television(‘First Edition’) and co-authored a careers guide for teenagers (What Will I Be? Mercier Press, 1995). She regularly writes and broadcasts about books, arts and travel and chairs literary panels and events.
