Mariella Frostrup
Mariella Frostrup is a UK-based broadcaster, journalist, and author. Her career began in music PR during the 1980s and 1990s, working with artists such as Dire Straits, UB40, Bananarama, and The Boomtown Rats, as well as contributing to Band Aid and Live Aid. Transitioning into broadcasting, she became a familiar voice and face in arts and current affairs, presenting programmes on books, film, and culture. She has hosted BBC Panorama investigations on reality TV and the housing crisis, fronted long-running BBC Radio 4 shows including Open Book and Bringing Up Britain, and even made cameo appearances in Absolutely Fabulous and Coupling. Beyond broadcasting, Mariella is a passionate advocate for gender equality, serving as Save The Children’s Gender Ambassador and a Founder Trustee of The Great Initiative. She is also a Patron of The Shark Trust and a long-term supporter of Comic Relief.
