Ruth Freeman
Dr. Ruth Freeman is a leading voice in Irish science and research, serving as Director of Science for Society at Science Foundation Ireland (SFI). She oversees research programs that connect science with society, including challenge-based research, STEM education, and public engagement initiatives. With a background in genetics, she earned her PhD from Trinity College Dublin, where her research focused on population genetics in hybrid zones. She has held key leadership roles at SFI since 2006, shaping Ireland’s research landscape and fostering innovation.
