Biography
Katja Hoyer is a German-British historian, journalist and the author of Blood and Iron: The Rise and Fall of the German Empire, 1871-1918 and Beyond the Wall: East Germany, 1949-1990. A visiting Research Fellow at King’s College London and a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society, she is a columnist for the Berliner Zeitung, contributes to several newspapers in Britain and the US and hosts the podcast The New Germany for the Körber-Stiftung. She was born in East Germany and is now based in the UK.
